Hi . when i try to do a simple task like : # shutdown -i 6 -g 60 -y I get showmount: pluto: RPC: Program not registered and the system won't reboot , wgy is that ?

Check the path once. use /usr/sbin/shutdown and try it,it might work out.

Dear Friend,
The answer which is given by Mr.Kumar is very much write..The path for the /usr/sbin has not been set please set the path in /etc/profile or do the Following
#cd /usr/sbin #./shutdown -i 6 -g 60 -y
Then system will get shutdown with out any error message
