RAID 5 questions.

My turn to ask a question :)
I'm going to be setting up a RAID5 Array on an E450 next week... I'm fine with DiskSuite commands but I just have a quick few Q's:
RAID5 has parity, so do I need to leave space on each disk for a metadb backup? Or does RAID5 effectively make the metadb redundant?
If a disk fails and reconstruction starts on a hot spare and then I replace the failed disk - what happens to the new disk? does it get reconstructed, is it just left alone or is it put into the hot spare pool?

hotrelocation takes care if any volume manager object fails. It rebuilds the failed disk either on spare disk or space avilable on disk group and then replaces the rebuild disk for faild disk.
