Hi,

I am using a Sun Ultra 1 server on which a Quantum DLT1 tapewriter is mounted as /dev/rmt/0. I am using Solaris 5.8 system.

When I try to store 2 files separately on tape, the latter written file overwrites the first file. The tape is totally rewinded for the first file, and not rewinded before writing the second file. Files are stored using common tar cvf commands:

What could be the problem?

Any help is appreciated.

/dev/rmt/0 is devices for auto rewinded

please use /dev/rmt/0n or (N) for non rewined.
