Comment:

I have a Sun Ultra 1 with Solaris 8, 384 MB
RAM. I have Zope and Plone installed for
webserver software along with Python. I
wanted to create a photo album but it
requires Python Imaging Library (PIL)
I ran the "./configure" and make successfully
for PIL but the next step is where it killed
me big time:

after running

python setup.py build

I got this message:

-------------
ld: fatal: relocations remain against
allocatable but non-writable sections
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
error: command 'gcc' failed with exit status 1

can anyone please help me with this problem?
I spent days figuring this out but came empty
handed.

Tony
