Hi everyone,
i'm trying to print from Netscape, simple web pages, giving it command " lp -d printername" but wht it is doing is that printing from tray three on A3....i need him to print on tray 2 on A4.
My Star office knows that he has to print ordinary web pages on A4 not on A3.
Thanks fr yr time,
iraja

my communicator is 4.76 fr Solaris 8 .
in my file menu i just have print option no print preview or anything...if u goto print and then in print u give command like "lp -d printername anyfilenametotry" it will print perfectly on A4....but when u print thecurrent page from netscape..it goes to tray3 which is A3.
can't think of anything....

Have you tried running jetadmin to see if there are configuration options for this?

Yeh...tried everything..jetadmin..is useless....HP support says they can't support Solaris problems......have to write a print filter..that can send post script jobs to specified tray..if anybody have done that ?

I'm *not* entirely sure, but there's something out there called Ghostscript, which might help you out...

A page I also found was:
http://mail.cc.umanitoba.ca/lp-magic/

which is for another proggie that does lp filtering. Perhaps one of these may provide a solution to your problem? Unfortunately I don't have a HP printer hooked up to experiment with so can't be 100% sure.
