Hi,
I have a problem with my printer. I cannot print from any one of the
boxes in the NIS domain not even from the print server
Below are the problems encountered and some stuff I have done

1)lpstat -t shows

printer _default faulted printing _default-549. enabled since Oct 18
15:05 2002. available.
server xxx.yyy.zzz not responding

what to do?

2)I had the following message before

Message from root on (???) [ Fri Oct 16 11:33:13 ] ...
$>
$> Error transfering print job 25
$> check queue for (@)

/var/adm/messages shows that

Oct 18 10:51:12 server printd[15870]: [ID 889138 lpr.error] Warning:
Received SIGPIPE; continuing

what I have done

2.1) I have sent a HUP to inetd
2.2) pmadm -r -p tcp -s lpd
pmadm -r -p tcp -s lp
pmadm -r -p tcp -s 0

I though that these were interfering with inetd

Also, I havent configured this system. Is there any entry in
inetd.conf that needs to be modified(for in.lpd There are two entires
for in.lpd)? Its running solaris 8 and the printer is a HP.
