Comment:

I’m trying to setup a “peer to peer” network on 2 Intel based PC’s running Solaris 2.7.

I’m using the following configuration parameters:

ifconfig lo0 plumb
ifconfig lo0 192.168.0.1 255.255.255.0
ifconfig lo0 up

When I enter the IP address and Netmask, I receive the following error message:
SIOCSIDSTADDR: IFF_POINOPOINT not set

Both systems have 3COM Etherlink XL PCI 36900B–TPO NIC’s installed, the green light on each card is on, both cards are supported by Sun.

Any Suggestions?

Thanks in advance
