hi everyone. As a solaris/unix beginner, I am trying a peer-to-peer connection with my Sun and Windows. Here is my setup: -Windows XP -Sun System (Netra T1) which is connected to the console of the WinXP machine. -Windows XP has wireless connection which enables me to access internet and a LAN card where I connected my SUN system thru crossover connection. -I already shared the internet connection from windows xp - Also, i set a static ip address on my solaris machine: ifconfig eri0 192.168.2.160 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 192.168.2.255 up - After i tried to set up static ip address on my solaris I am not sure what to do next so that my solaris machine can access the Internet thru my windows xp. I am really new to this one as I just really need to learn solaris. thanks a lot.

hi jefro.. thanks a lot.. anyway, is there by any chance you can share me some information about how i can connect my solaris system to the shared internet connection? bec after i set up the static ip on my solaris, im not sure what could possibly be the next step.. been working around and asking Mr Google for days now and still i havent figure it out. thanks again

hi jefro.. thanks a lot for the links.. sorry been busy for a while trying to figure out the sun solaris .. anyhow, im more of a Windows person and really a beginner in sun solaris / unix.. i already did the ics in windows xp and just dont know how to work with the sun solaris client, silly me.. lol.. i will just try to continue reading more about solaris and unix networking. thanks again.
