openssh compression does not work

I have installed openssh_3.4p1 packages from www.ibiblio.org.

When seeing at sshd -d -e debug output:
(....)
Debug1: Enabling compression at level 6
Segmentation Fault (coredump)

Any suggestion to solve the issue?

Have you tried the one from www.sunfreeware.com ? I have compression running without any problem.

Or you could try compiling it yourself....

1) I tried also from www.sunfreeware.com.
I got the same result.

2) If I try compiling do I have to compile all
packages zlib, openssl, prngd, egd, openssh
or only the zlib?
