When trying to PING sites, a very limited of them work. With nslookup sitename, I get a perfekt reply. Have been checking resolv.conf, nsswitch.conf can't figure it out. I'm using DNS.

Suggetions?

nslookup queries dns records based on the ip numbers of the dns servers list in /etc/resolv.conf

other network services use the order of the host line in /etc/nsswitch.conf to determine the query order. Probably yours should look like:

hosts: files dns

I've got this line correctly in resolv.conf.

Do I have to start an other process? Why does a nslookup works and pinging the same site doesn't?
