No disk found error

attempting to install solaris 8 IA. keep getting error: " no disk found" What going on and how do I correct this issue??

A couple things could be the culprit:

1. The disk isn't seated properly (common if you have a removeable hard disk).

2. The disk isn't on the standard IDE channel. Some motherboards have the standard IDE and an ATA100 IDE channel. Solaris doesn't yet support the ATA100 IDE channel.

3. Jumpers on the disk aren't set right.
