Hi,
I am trying to add a new user to the NIS network with SUN Sparc sever ans SUN Ultra 5 clients. I added the account with useradd command on the SUN server by logging in as a root. Now i need to update the NIS database. If moved to /var/yp directory and tried make or ypmake. none of them are running. Following are the errors that I get - #make Fatal error - no arumnets to build
#ypmake ypmake: not found
#make passwd Fatal error: Don't know how to make target 'passwd'

hi Anand, ypmake did not work because it was not in you PATH. Make works without argument too. Are you sure that (passwd.time:) section of your /var/yp/Makefile script is not corrupted?
