Hi,

I am trying to add a new user to the NIS network with SUN Sparc sever ans SUN Ultra 5 clients. I added the account with useradd command on the SUN server by logging in as a root. Now i need to update the NIS database. If moved to /var/yp directory and tried make or ypmake. none of them are running. Following are the errors that I get -
#make
Fatal error - no arumnets to build

#ypmake
ypmake: not found

#make passwd
Fatal error: Don't know how to make target 'passwd'

Any help is highly appreciated.

Thanks

hi Anand, ypmake did not work because it was not in you PATH. Make works without argument too. Are you sure that (passwd.time:) section of your /var/yp/Makefile script is not corrupted?
