I just got my hands on a sun sparc workstation 2 , i need to get my sun machine on the network , im living in the dorms and our school provides us ip address i have my sun machine hooked to the ethernet but dont know the process of getting an ip from our dhcp server . i need to configure my machine .if anyone could help me out i'd really appreciate it .

Hai jim,
in the client side u have to create an empty file(#touch /etc/hostname.hme0),no need to put any data in that file.

hai, i have problem with network configuring with solaris 8 .i have installed solaris 8 in my machine when i try to configure with other machine using solstice lancher it says solstice registry error check whether adminsuite software installed.what is the error can you let me know how to configure solaris 8 if u can help me it would great help to me ramkumar
