Comment:

I have just installed a intel x86 Solaris 9, after I finished the installation, no network connection at all, when I typed #ifconfig -a
only showed up the "lo0" interface (127.0.0.1)
I thought that the network card should not be supported. So change the other network card, It should be supported, since I can see the startup menu contain boot from "Disk", "CD" & "Network"....!!
but when I type
#ifconfig -a
the result is the same.
Is anyone counld help me?
I have totally no clue.
Thank you so much....!!

First what NIC are u using?

You should provide more information. Depending on the NIC used will determine what device name is used to plumb the card.

example: for realtek rtls#
# being the first of that device usually 0 or 1. you can also find information by going to a console window and typing

man plumb
