I am trying to migrate an application from a 5.6 platform to a 5.8 platform. The application sends out data to tcp port 5000 on a remote machine. Something is being sent out when the application is run on the 5.8 machine that is shutting down the remote machine. I would like to set up a dummy machine, open port 5000 and see the difference between what is being sent from 5.6 and 5.8 to help me troubleshoot. I don't have direct physical access to the remote machine, so performing any type of diagnostics there is not an option.
Any idea on how to proceed troubleshooting this? Is there a ready made application I could capture the network communications to a specific port on? Thanks.
