sorry i'm new at this....
i've got a netra t1 which cannot boot past the nfs mount. It's on a good network with connectivity, but it just hangs at this point. Is there a way to break into its bootup sequence? all i can get to is back to the lom prompt.

Hi-

Here is an option...boot into single-user mode and comment out the rc script. This way it will not try and start the daemon. I think it is /etc/rc2.d/S7Xnfs.client....I just cannot remember the exact number but can check tomorrow if needed.

Good Luck

Are you actually using NFS? If you are then it's probably better to boot -s, then edit your /etc/vfstab file and comment out your nfs mounts so that you can get the machine up and troubleshoot further.

The most likely causes for an NFS mount failing are things like:

hostname not in /etc/hosts file,
nfs server down,
nfs daemons not running (check with ps -ef | grep "mountd")
