Comment:

I'm trying to install Solaris 10 for Intel off the the 4 CD-ROM download from Sun. I'm attempting to install on a Compaq ProLiant 6500 with Smart Array 3200 drive controller. It doesn't see the drive. I've already tried to use the Solaris 8 driver from Compaq (renaming the folder to the correct number), apart from adding the driver at bootup do I need any other commands to activate this drive for installation?

When will drivers for earlier versions of Solaris (8, 9?) work with 10?

I'm going to try installing with 8 and the compaq driver disk. Will an upgrade then work?

Thanks,
Albion.
