What software can i use to communicate with serial port? I couldn't find minicom in Solaris 9!!! Please help....
however, you will need to make sure that "hardwire" is defined as your serial port in /etc/remote. That will depend on what type of hardware you are using so it might be /dev/term/a for serial port 0 or if x86, it might be /dev/cua/a

While testing a Sparc10 CPU I lost the signal to the monitor. Apparently the CPU is now operating in the stand-alone mode. The video signal needs to be reset somehow to reconnect to the monitor.
I am trying to connect the CPU to a terminal device, however the serial connections on both ends are 25-pin female, which requires a special 25-pin male-to-male cable. I tried using a regular 25-pin male-to-female cable with a 9-pin adapter to connect to the Sparc10 CPU, however the terminal still sees no signal when I boot up the Sparc10.
Is this special cable the solution or should I look elsewhere?
