meaning of loghost in the hosts fil

hi ,everybody , I want to know what is the meaning of 'loghost' in the file /etc/hosts. can I change it another name ? eg the name of one of my NIC ( that is the content in the file /etc/hostname.hme0 ) ? Thank you so much !!

You machine wants to know where to send logger messages. They normally go to localhost in /var/adm/* but can be directed to a central logging machine if your network dictates. You can add other entries to the 127.0.0.1 line and the machine will respond to those as well. telnet localhost should always connect to itself.
