Hello all.
I have a little problem. I want install solaris 8 on a LC2000 server with
and two 18gb ultra3 10k scsi drive of HP.
But when i begin install, the installation logiciel don't see my disks.
When i use the Installation disks, after the option for choose the language, i have a message who say : "No disks that meet the criteria in the solaris installation documentation found".
When i use the software disk (1/2), after the choice for the network, the name and the time, a window appear (just after the message in the console "Begin script install_begin execution completed") whixh say :
No disk found
> check to make sure disks are abled and powered upMy SCSI bus are recgnize at the begin of installation and the DEL are light on. I don't understand why the installation don't see my disks. If somebody
can help me ....Pierrick Puimean
P.S. : Sorry for my poor english

The Solaris 8 book I have says that often "you will not be able to install on a disk that has not already been partitioned. If you have a brand new hard disk it is a good idea to label and partition it on an existing Solaris system before trying to install."
I have the same problem.
If I had an existing system I wouldn't be doing this. If you found a solution please let me know.

I have the same problem too... I don't have another Solaris installation so I can't label and partition my disk before having a running one!
P.S. I have a brand new IBM e-server X-220 with a single SCSI disk on a U160 SCSI controller, the controller is seen OK during hardware autodetection, the disk is flat empty not partitioned, and when the install boot completes there's no /dev/rdsk/c0d0 to partition or label...
plz. if you find any solution, let me know too, thanks
