I have Asus M50Sseries Laptop with the following configuration; windows Vista Home Premium, Intel Core2Duo T9300 CPU@2.5Ghz, 3GB Ram, 250GB Hdd, 15.4" WXGA.
I was trying to install Solaris 10 inside Vmware workstation 5.5.3 and I got the following errors after installation.
1. VMware Workstation has measured your CPU speed to be 2493 MHz, but Windows reports that it is 2501 MHz. This may mean that your computer has a power-saving feature that varies the processor speed. As a result, the clock in your virtual machine may run too fast or too slow.
2. Do not forget to install the VMware Tools package inside this virtual machine: wait until your guest operating system finishes booting, then choose VM > Install VMware Tools... and follow the instructions.
3. You are running a 64-bit guest operating system, but the virtual machine is configured to run a 32-bit operating system. To ensure that a 64-bit guest operating system will function correctly you must:
1. Power off this virtual machine.
2. Change the guest operating system type to a 64-bit operating system in virtual machine settings.
4. ** Virtual machine kernel stack fault (hardware reset) ***
The virtual machine just suffered a stack fault in kernel mode. On a real computer, this would amount to a reset of the processor. It can be caused by an incorrect configuration of the virtual machine, a bug in the operating system, or a problem in the VMware Workstation software. Press OK to reboot virtual machine or Cancel to shut it down.Pls note that the OS on my Laptop is windows Vista Home Premium which is 32bit.
I know that I can sort out the problem 1 ( processor issue) by editing the config.ini file but problems 3 and 4 still persists. I also tried editing the virtual machine settings by selecting Solaris 10 64 bit.Pls I need help in installing the Solaris and making it work.

Could try a prebuilt vm maybe. http://www.vmware.com/appliances/di...
Are you using the live cd?
"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, are in my top 10
