i download a file from internet in Windows system ,then i copy this file to a CD.when i try to access this CD in solaris ,i only find two files, one is ".",anther is ".."

I don't think you actually copied the file to the CD... when you are in the windows environment does the file show up on the cdrom?
The "." and ".." are directory placeholders with "." representing the current directory and ".." representing the parent directory.
If the file is truely on the CD then Solaris should be able to find and display it for you.

Note:
1. Your CD should not be CDRW (Re-Writable), as solaris (unix) doesn't support such...
2. If your CD is read-only, did you specify the table-indexing (i.e during eject of cd-rom it prompts you the message
a. leave it for further use.
b. leave it for further use and burn index for currently added files/directories.
c. burn it completely (fully-indexed) and no further use or append.prefer the 'b' option and then try the EFFECTS...

This purely depends upon the cd drive you use.
I have no issue with multisession discs, I use them to put all my patches on from my windows machine.
I just burn them all onto CDR with ISO restrictions relaxed (long file names, >256 dirs) and have no problem.
As long as vold is running it should be easy... insert disc, cd /cdrom/cdlabelname
then copy what you want.
If you can't read it at all then yes, the problem is most likely your drive's inability to read the disc itself (if it works fine on a pc), or the format that you burned in.
