How to setup internet? Solaris 8

Okay guys....
I have read over almost EVERY single message here and all I see is confusion. I simply need to get my Ultra 1 on the internet to get patches and Gnome. I am NOT a unix/Solaris user. I do NOT have a DNS nor do I use or have a domain name.
I use Fios fiber coming in on my router, there is a subnet address(which I do NOT know how to enter in solaris) and an IP, there is NO DNS/Domain name. My solaris box is setup to use DHCP.
I hope that is all the info you guys need to help me with this. I have been trying all day to get it on the internet, the closest I got before a sys-unconfig was being able to ping yahoo.com's address, but netscape STILL does not work. Really frustrated here, need this thing on the net!

Considering how much you're stressing that you don't have DNS or a domain name, I suspect you didn't select the dns option during installation. I skipped this my first time installing Solaris 10, and to fix it I had to add "dns" to the "hosts" line of /etc/nsswitch.conf and create /etc/resolv.conf as:
Replace the nameserver IPs with the ones your other systems use. I don't know how critical the domain line is if you don't have a domain name, but I've always used "localdomain".
