Is it possible to reboot solaris 7 remotely, using telnet ? if yes please tell me how?

yes,you can use init 5 for reboot in telnet.

but how to make sure that it will return to the state it was in before restarting.

# shutdown -i6 -y -g0
or
# init 6

Run level 6 is a reboot.
