How to free the port immediately

My application is using any of the port,and if application crashes then that port remain in TIME_WAIT state for sometime. Also sometimes if the application gets shutdown properly, then also it happens.
Please suggest some way of releasing port immediately. ALso handling of ports

I thought the port states were TCP issues..and the timeouts are pretty standard..so I do not think that is a Solaris issue..
