if ur nic is pci in 2.6 & 2.7 i think it is not possible. try it in 2.8 solari version.
if it is 16bit card that should be ne2000 compatable. if it is insert in the slot. boot the meachine while booting press ESC and probe the device it will show in device list. if it is not list u have to set IRQ and I/O BASE.

Download the Solaris drivers for the 8139 card from www.realtek.com.tw. There is an install script with the drivers. Run the script with './install'. your drivers will now be installed. You need to create a file in the /etc directory called 'hostname.rtls0' this simply holds the name of the system. From the console type 'sys-unconfig' this will blank the system settings and reboot the system. When the system reboots it will run through the network setup. And all should be running.
