How much power needs Solaris9?

I just downlaoded Solaris 9 and try to installit. But it runs very slow.So I ask: Is a Tbird@900 with 256 DDR not enough? How much processing power do I need to ron Solaris normally? Thanks in advance Alex.

I haven't tried Solaris 9.0 (i386) however I just installed the Solaris 10.0 (i386) pre-release on a 1gig Duron System w/384mb pc133 sdram and it runs fine. No significant slowdown.

Summary: No need to patch anything in order to log as root onto your server. Just use the "su" command to access privileged account. This behavior may be modified, but not recommend, somewhere in the /etc conf...
