Hello, anybody can help me understand how sendmail service work?. I have a very big queue in /var/spool/mqueue/ directory, IŽd like to know which mails can be erased.

The short answer is /var/spool/mqueue contains emails that are "pending" delivery.

It looks like your sendmail is not sending mail correctly. This could be for any number of reasons. A couple of the most common would be :
Mailhost is not defined in your hosts file.
The smart forwarded in sendmail.cf is not correctly resolved.
