My Matrox Millenium G400 adapter can not
be recognized by Solaris,or it doesn't
include this driver on the selection list.
I download driver of G400 for Linux,the
problem is:How can I make it acceptable
for Solaris?

use the g200 to get the install through, then get onto the solaris solve site that the install will point you to when you register and download and install the recommended patches. the cluster install is the way to go.
follow the destructions for the install, reboot (should be kernel update 12 or later) do the escape for new hardware bit, and the g400 should be there. The drivers were inclued in an update patch for openwin around a year ago or so.
The only way to make the linux driver work is to use xfree86 and link through the linux libraries - essentially create your own version of lxrun. That you're asking the question at all suggests you've got too much to learn yet to follow that path just yet - so grab the solaris update, eh.

I just installed a Matrox Millenium G400 in my machine and was trying to use the G200 drivers......What I had to do was apply a patch. For my version of solaris 7 8/99 the patch was #109402-04 which is for S7 5/99 & later. I downloaded the patch un-tar'ed it and then ran: patchadd /var/spool/patch/109402-04
Then when I went back to kdmconfig the G400 was listed and everything worked out just fine. I've ran KDE and Openwin with no problems.
