Comment:

hello, I've installed a DNS IPv6 and it works fine when I use the tools nslookup and dig :

#nslookup ...
set q=AAAA "hostname" give me the IPv6 address and other informations, the reverse request works fine too.

#dig "hostname".domaine give me too good informations.

But when I try to make request with ping :

ping -s -A inet6 "hostname", it gives me the follow ligne :

ping: host unknown "hostname"

In /etc, I 've configured the files hosts, nsswitch.conf, resolv.conf ...and I've also edit the file hostname6.eri0 as follow :

# touch /etc/hostname6.eri0 (eri0 is the current interface which support IPv6).

This is contains :

addif "address IPv6" up

I've fixed this address, because I only want to make tests IPv6 of DNS, and I don't have any IPv6 router with autoconfigration for have a global address IPv6.

So my question, is to know if someone knew how to configure the hostname6.eri0 for introduce a hostname and ping with this hostname ? I've tried to edit hostname6.eri0 in writing in this file the name which i would to configure my interface "hostname" but it doesn't works...

hope that someone can help me.

Thanks .

Lionel David
