HI.. i install solaris 8 (intel base ) on a labtop but on the kdmconfig my video is unknown, when i boot it is grey there no color, and the other problem is, that i can't log on to root user, on my othere solaris box, i vi the /bin/sh to /bin/bash,and know it saying incorrect log in... i was wondering how the hell do you create a boot disk for solaris, please help thanks

When running Solaris on a laptop, be sure that the numlock key is off...otherwise you cannot log on. I have also noticed in the past that the caplocks can be turned on w/o you knowing when creating root password...turn your caplock key on and try logging in. The video card, is it on the HCL for Solaris Intel ...there are many patches from sun that must be applied to recognize many standard display Adapters. Hope this helps.

I have installed solaris8(intel). and I have also updated patch 109401-10. Right from the beginning window environments have no color. while running kdmcongig I see colours.
