I am facing following problem in Sol7 installation .
Hardware :
Ultra 5Note: This system has IDE cdrom drive, IDE HDD 8GB, 512MB RAM.,
After booting from the Solaris CD (type "boot cdrom" at OK prompt),
it ask as whether the systems is networked or not, DHCP, host name, ip address, enable IPv6, whether is a part of subnet.
Then a new window "solaris install console" pops up, it says:---The system is coming up. Please wait.
---Starting remote procedure call (RPC) services: sysidnis done.
---System identification is completed.
---Starting Solaris installation program...
---Executing JumpStart preinstall phase...
---Searching for SolStart directory...
---Checking rules.ok file...
---Using begin script: install_begin
---Using finish script: patch_finish
---Executing SolStart preinstall phase...
---Executing begin script "install_begin"...
---Begin script install_begin execution completed.
---Exiting (caught signal 11)---Type suninstall to restart.
NOTE: I tried again typing suninstall but the same thing wentALSO PLEASE NOTE THAT ON THE SAME SYSTEM IF I TRY TO INSTALL SOLARIS 8.0, INSTALLATION IS SUCCESSFUL.
Please give me a hand.

Hi Steven
What I would like suggest you is donot configure network properties at the begin i .e during installation when you installer ask you "Whether this system is a part of network" then select NO and complete the installation.
Once you complete the installation then through sys-unconfig you can configure Ethernet interface.
Do let me know if there is any another problem in installation.

Hi,Sukrut
Thank you for your prompt replying,
I reinstall sol 7,but it is failed yet.
when installer ask me "Whether this system is a part of network" then I select NO , and yet I got the same error info:---The system is coming up. Please wait.
---Starting remote procedure call (RPC) services:
---sysidnis done.
---System identification is completed.
---Starting Solaris installation program...
---Executing JumpStart preinstall phase...
---Searching for SolStart directory...
---Checking rules.ok file...
---Using begin script: install_begin
---Using finish script: patch_finish
---Executing SolStart preinstall phase...
---Executing begin script "install_begin"...
---Begin script install_begin execution completed.
---Exiting (caught signal 11)---Type suninstall to restart.
How shall I do it?

I've had this before....
Are you trying to install the server or workstation version of Sol7?
I've had bad CDs cause this kind of error too - getting another copy of the OS CD has fixed this problem.
See if you can get another disc... perhaps that may help.
