hey evryone, here is da prob i have faced, in
solaris if we have a hard disk of 100g and for
abt the client request its needed nly 75g soo
how can ia allocate the space to him and if i
allocate so can i allocate rest of the space to
any other project ?soo hw can i do that ? can
any one give me the xact solution? i would be
very thankful to u.....

Hi y2k

the simplest way to do so is to partition the disk into only two slices one for 75gb and the other for 25gb.

To partition the disk use format command.
man format will explain everything in detail.

be extra careful while using such destructive commands.

revert back incase you have any querries regarding this.
