Hi Gang,
I am stumped by this one. I have a SunBlade100 running Solaris 8. I can see all other machines on the network. I can ping machines on the internet. I can also run nslookup/traceroute etc. The problem is that ftp, telnet, netscape and anything else that is used to get out isn't working. Any idea??

netscape *requires* nscd be running. When you say telnet and ftp aren't working, what actually happens? Do they not resolve a name or do they connect but not give a login prompt?

Have you checked /etc/inetd.conf to see if these services are commented out?
