Unless you know someone who has it who is prepared to put it up on an ftp for you (which I daresay Sun would not be very happy about) then you're out of luck.
You could try looking on ebay to see if anyone is selling a CD pack... or I guess you could try other avenues such as IRC - sometimes people have fserves or FTPs up with ISOs of Operating Systems (efnet seems to have a large quantity of such shady types of people!).
*IF* you do find somewhere else that is providing a download then think about what you are doing.. There is a small possibility that someone out there has messed around with it and you could be installing something with trojans/security problems "hacked" in. I'm not sure what the checksum is for the ISO files, perhaps you could ask someone else what that is too and use a cksum tool to verify it :o)
I would not personally be keen on downloading an OS from an untrusted source but that's up to you..

Mark

Subject: Solaris x86, still available for Download!
Hi folks,
I just discovered, that Solaris-8_x86 AND Solaris-9_x86 beta are both
available for download from Sun.
Howto:
Go to www.sun.com. Open the download section. On the left hand side is
a link called Upgrade Software. After you have got access by providing
a username and password you must follow the link Complete Download.
Then there's a list with available software, including Solaris 8 and
Solaris 9 both for Intel.

Hi,
Cristi's guide seems to work ... but only if you downloaded Solaris 8 or tried to download it from sun before(same for Solaris 9) it was dropped by them.
Anyway, thx. :)

Have you already looked at http://ftp.cfu.net/pub/ ? If i'm not making a mistake, there are iso images for the 3 CD's, and also for Star Office 6.0 for linux and for (AARRRRRGGGGHHH!!!!) Windows.
Try it if you like to, and please, come back to comment your experience, ok?
I would have already download it if I had a large broadband connection, so if any of you enjoy the tip, please, remember me and send me a copy of the CD's. You may send me it in my work address, as follows:Gustavo Almeida
R. Teixeira de Aragão, 94
S. Paulo - SP
CEP 02801-020
BrazilThis would be a nice way to thank me if my tip work for you. :) :) :) :)

I downloaded the solaris image, unzipped it, but when i burned it unto disk and tried to boot with it nothing happens, Have I missed out something. Any suggestion is welcomed. Thanks

at http://ftp.cfu.net/pub/soffice, there are 3 different disks. First off, are these for intel. Second, which disk do you install first

hi, but i can't find the soffice under http://ftp.cfu.net/pub. is it removed?
any suggestions for other links?

None of these links seem to work for me... I am trying to get an iso image of Solaris for intel
I would really appreciate it if someone could help me with a link to the iso's for intel.
Thankx
