Hi, I have to move some files from a windows 2000 server sytem to a solaris 8 system. The problem is that when I copy those files to Solaris, it renames the files that have more than 8 charcters. Anyone Know why? What can I do to move those files?. Thank you.

I think that WinRAR supports .gz and .tar for windows so that should help you with the solution above.
I personally find that burning stuff on CD doesn't have this problem. HSFS doesn't cause any issues :S
