Good luck! Although it is thoeretically possible, I never got it to work. The Solaris install program always read the existing partitions as overlapping, so there were a *lot* of install problems. After that, Solaris uses the same partition type as the Linux Swap, so there were unresolvable boot errors.

Also, The Solaris partioning tool always left gaps of unused space on the hard drive - very sloppy. Using a reliable third-party partitioning tool (such as Ranish) didn't work either, because the Solaris installer always read the partitions as overlapping and wouldn't procede with the install.

I am currently triple-booting WinXP (1st partition), Solaris 8 and Red Hat 8 installed in that order using Linux GRUB boot loader - most flexible boot-loader for this setup. I suggest you pick up the November issue of Sys Admin (Journal for UNIX Sys Admins) and read the article on multi-booting...should help you out. The trick is to leave an extended empty partition (3-4 cylinders) after the Solaris install and use Linux fdisk to setup this and your Linux install after it.
