I just got thru doing this this weekend.

The way I found out about this web site is from a search on google.

after countless tries to find specific how to's, I found nothing.

It took many hours of trial and error, but I got it. works great as a matter of fact, especially with vpn!!

I have it documented, if you want it I don't mind making it easier for other. Its just too big to put on this little spot.

if you have a hotmail, yahoo account to send garbage to let me know.

mine is hooked up to sbcglobal a sister comp. of pacbell.

Dave

Dave or anyone,

How do I hook up my dsl router (linksys) to the sbc dsl. I have a dynamic IP. I tried to use PPPoE but it's not connecting.

Any Ideas, please email: preetgrewal@yahoo.com

Thanks,
Harpreet

I, also, have been trying to use my linksys router with SBCglobal DSL. I tried PPPoE without success. I'm thinking there must be some simple piece of information I'm missing. Please send any info to todd_kanning@yahoo.com
MANY thanks, in advance, for any help!
Regards,
Todd

I too have problem hooking Linksys up with PacBell DSL.

Linksys told me:
The Efficient Networks modem is the problem, and that I should buy an Alcatel or Sony modem instead.

Linksys also told me PacBell is planning on rolling out PPPoA to replace PPPoE. If they do this, there will be no way to get your Linksys router, or any other retail router to work with their service.

PacBell was utterly unhelpful. They dont like routers. They dont seem to understand that for most people a single connection is insufficient.

I am going to try upgrading my firmware on the Linksys. If that doesnt work I will buy an Alcatel modem. If that doesnt work I will explore going with an alternative broadband provider.
