I have a router and a cable internet. I setup DHCP on my Sun machine so i got IP and stuff. I can ping outside IPs also. But I cannot surf the net using Netscape so I guess I need to enter the DNS address somewhere but I don't know where. I read some posts where it says to put it in resolv.conf but I don't see that file in /etc. Do I create that file or since I have DHCP enables I put it somewhre else?

hai anjaan..
I am kumar. The /etc/resolve.conf file will not there by default,u should create it in the /etc dir and u should give dns server ip as a search.u should have in.named daemon running. As u created file and made some changes u should run pkill-hup in.named to restart the services.
bye

Anjaan/Kumar- The spelling of "resolv.conf" is incorrect in Kumar's email. If you still have that problem make sure that the file name is correct. I believe that it has to match if you do man on resolv.conf.
