Hey, everyone i had a typical problem after installing solaris on my x86 machine.
After installing when i tried to configure dns after giving main configuration for the dns/server was in miantenance mode even i restarted the service and even its diaplaying the same message and i restarted the system too even then there is no change in its state
so pls any one can gve me wat could be the reason and wht should i do for dat, i would be thankful if any step-by-step procedure is given as response

I suggest to take a look at the bootlog file.
I don't use Solaris by myself but as far as I know, the file is named boot.msg and is located in /var/log folder.

You may try the following command:
cat /var/log/boot.msg | grep fail

This command should show you, whether there is an error at startup may advice you to the next step in troubleshooting.
