Hi

I've just installed solaris 8 on an Ultra10 station.
How can i configure it to display more than 256 colors ?

Before I answer did you bother going thru the
man pages?

Anyway, In ultra 10 board I think its a built in ATI card, its either a 2meg or a 4 meg. The 2 meg card gives you 8 bit depth & 4 meg
card gives you 24 bit depth. In your case you need 24 bit. Okay do this at command lind.

# /usr/sbin/m64config -propt

--- OpenWindows Configuration for /dev/fbs/m640 ---
OWconfig: machine
Video Mode: 1152x900x76
Depth: 24

This is telling my current depth & resolution values. To get this settings do:


/usr/sbin/m64config -res 1152x900x76 -depth 24
