Comment:

Using the admintool I set the user neil to use the bash shell which is located at /usr/local/bin/bash.

When CDE starts bash loads fine but when KDE starts and I type echo $SHELL it returns /usr/local/bin/bash but its not using the bash shell, its actually just using sh.

Have I done something wrong? I would appreciate a hand with this!

Thanks

Hi-

You could just edit the /etc/passwd file and change the user's shell in there. It is the last field.
