Comment:

While trying to initiate ssh to other servers I get the message "Couldn't connect to PRNGD socket". I checked other systems that run ssh and could not find any records for "prngd" - not the process, initialization scripts, rc/initd files or /etc/services. However, it is run fine on other machines. Any idea?

you have to ask who has compiled you ssh package and if have only one w/ use of prng-seed you can installed too, or recompile
or use a different one.
