assumed your NIC is working properly 1.check /etc/nodename, your host name must be there 2.check /etc/hostname.eri0, same as above 3.check /etc/nsswitch.conf, you must have following line: Hosts :files dns 4. create /etc/resolv.conf and paste following line: nameserver (TAB) DNS oe router IP 5. check /etc/defaultrouter, you must have the router IP or DNS there.
