CD-ROM doesn't automatically mount

I've installed Solaris 8 on an Intel machine. When I put my CD in it, the Removable Media Manager show error message 'cdrom0 file or directory cannot be found'. However when i type the 'eject crom' command it ejects. When I type the mount command manually to mount the cdrom, I can see the contents of the disk. However I get error message when I execute the install file on the CD.
My question is how can I make sure the CD drive is automatically mounted instead having to manually mount it? Because I think once I take care of that then maybe I can execute the install command on the cd drive.
