CDE not working

I upgraded to Solaris 8 everthing was going fine and i all of the sudden I get a message that comes up everytime i try to log into CDE that says The DT Messaging could not be started to correct the problem log in a failsafe sessionand check the following files
/etc/src.sh /etc/hosts /usr/adm/inetd.sec
the only one of the files that exists is the host file and it is correct
One thing before this started happening i did change the ip address by changing the host file
