I tried re-installing Solaris 9 on one of our sun servers but unfortunately mid-install everything went terribly wrong and when i returned there was nothing facing me but a blank screen and an unresponsive keyboard / mouse.
Upon manually restarting the machine single user mode was forcibly started so that fsck could be run. Unfortunately that doesnt work, i just get the response "Can't stat /dev/rdsk/c0t3d0s0"
I'm totally stumped, can anyone help or is the hard disk dead?

The hard disk may be dead. Does it show up if you run probe-scsi-all from the OK prompt ? If you put the drive in a different machine can you see it there ?
