I have Solaris 8 on Ultra 10 machine.
After I update /etc/system file
(to update semaphore & kernel parameters for informix installation) & reboot -> I think this is a coincident however), I can't type anything on the desktop login screen meaning that whatever key I hit, the cursor stays on 1st position of the user name prompt field & no value appears. This happens for OpenWindows Desktop, CDE desktop, User's Last Desktop, and for FailSafe Session. However, if I choose command line login, I can certainly login.
I checked the keyboard connection & even switched keyboard but same problem occurs. I restored the previous /etc/system file but same problem stays.
Help: Any thought on what may cause this & how do I fix this?
