cannot write in /home

OS: solaris 10.1

hello! i have a problem :(
i just installed solaris 10.1 without a home slice, i want everything in /.
so, i now have a /home but when i do ls -a | grep home i get:
dr-xr-xr-x root root ...
i cannot write into it! i want to create an account for me, as a "normal user" but i cannot create a directory in /home, even as root! what can i do? and why did i get /home so?!
