Comment:

How can I have both OS Solaris 8 and Windows 98 on a pc, I have Windows 98 running on intel pentium II and wish to install Solaris 8, I have the disks for installation and like to know how I can make it boot from CD ROM. Please help and let me even know if there can be any chances of hard disk crash and loss of previous data. Can someone please help me.
Thanking you in Advance.

u can install sun 8 and 98 in same hard disk
the steps are following
make the first partion for solaris
and u can give u r rest hard disk for solaris
u have to install solaris first , after installation of solaris u can install 98
the bootable cd of 98 will autmmaticlly detect the rest partition
if u donot understand , u can ask freely

Hello
Nanda
i think i should install first 98 in first partition and leave remaining space unformated (don't create any file system there) right. then Boot from Solaris CD that will install Solaris 8.

if u feel any help u can mail me

just make both partitions to each OS as primary and also I think there are some limmitation on staring claster of bootable partition, because of that do not make very big partitions. I have 2 10Gb partition it seem to work fine
